Flexing Those Writing Muscles

I will be doing so much writing this semester. SO MUCH WRITING. I have to make another blog for my web writing class (which is up already, sans any writing), keep a physical journal for my creative psychology class, I have this journal, and then I'll be participating in NaNoWriMo come November (one month, one novel, 50,000 words.) There goes all my hopes for brushing up on my drawing skills. I'm trying to think of a focus for my class blog...I really want to do something about writing and then incorporate NaNo into it. But I don't know; perhaps it would be better to do something else.

Oh well. It will be exciting I think- keep me on my toes.

Down To The Wire

So I'm sitting here in Tulsa on my last day there, waiting for people to come back from class and listening to the rain. It's just so lovely here- less hot and humid. That's one thing I like about Oklahoma as compared to Texas, among several things, but we won't get into those right now. I went to see my godsister and her baby Jack yesterday. The poor thing had a big day yesterday, getting up early to fly from Denver to here, so he was a bit on the cranky side. But when Megan finally got him to sleep, she let me hold him so she could let her arms rest and I'll tell you it was the sweetest thing ever. He really is an awesome little guy. He is also fascinated by the ceiling fan- it will the source of hours of entertainment for years to come, I can assure you.

Anyway, when I get back it's back to the apartment with me (finish what I did manage to clean up...if it hasn't been undone yet >.> ) and then tomorrow is my first day of school!!! Only a little less nervous than I used to be on first days. I don't even have my books yet (though I'll be checking once I get back to Dallas to see if they have come in, though I kinda doubt it.)

And...that's all I have to say right now. Cheers. :)

Today Will Be Work-Filled With a Slight Chance of Meteor Showers

Last night my friend Aly and I made a last minute decision to go see Night at the Museum 2 at the dollar theatre at around 9 in the evening. I love last minute plans that go well- something about them just makes the whole experience so exciting. Anyway, the movie was pretty good, especially for a sequel ('cause we know how those tend to work out) and then the night ended with a literal bang as we finished the last 20 minutes of Sahara once we got back to campus (another movie which I now love; good character interaction really attracts me to a movie and Sahara is chockfull of it.)

Today is going to be a moderately busy day; I have work, then afterwards I plan to begin the cleaning process of my apartment, starting with the living room and dining area. My apartment's a disaster from summer weeks spent trying to clean and then becoming utterly distracted by something else. Actually, that's how most everything I've done all summer has ended, even the things I like to do.

Also, for those of you who love to watch the sky for any reason, might I interest you in a meteor shower tonight? The details of when and where (for the US at least) can be found here, as well as a little background information about the celestial shower in general. I for one intend to stay up long enough to see a few.

Have a great day everyone!

In The Beginning, There Was a Post

Ah, the first post of a new blog. Even in these times of twitter, podcasts, and wikipedia, the simple act of starting a blog can feel just as fulfilling as putting pen to diary page. I mean, that's where anything can begin. A story, an artist's compilations, or even just a plain old journal- it all begins by translating thought into communicative language.

You know, I wanted this post to begin with a bang, and I even had an entire 'essay' of sorts planned out to wow and amaze...but alas I realized halfway into it that it was a stupid idea and quickly understood that perhaps the generic, "Hi, how are you, I'm me," would indeed suffice. Though I probably don't need much more than that; most of you who will be reading this will already know me, and as for the rest, well, I may have created this blog to share my thoughts, but that doesn't I have to share everything else about me as well. Who really cares anyway, right?

So, hi, this is my blog, who knows when I will update again in yet another sort of attempt at being witty.

Let the story of another great thought-keeping begin.
